The Infamous 2020 is not Inglorious at All

The year 2020 is about to end in few more days. Shall we say - Thank God?!

The world has suffered so much from major catastrophes, either manmade or otherwise, since time immemorial. However, nothing compares to this modern time pandemic - the COVID-19 virus. Its onslaught has stopped the world from spinning. It effectively prevented people from living their "normal" lives. Suddenly the world became quiet. The air around us cleared when the air pollution in the entire globe significantly decreased due to  drastic descaling of all activities using motor vehicle and machinery. Flights all over the world were halted and lasted even until now.

My family had a bitter taste of COVID-19 when my mother acquired it. Sometime in August of 2020, she felt the usual symptoms of the common flu. She got a high fever, cough, and body malaise. Her fever would go off once and a while but it keeps on coming back. Her cough worsens with an indication of phlegm. She grew weaker every day. On the following days, she endured her condition for fear that when she goes to see a doctor she will be found positive for COVID-19.

To make the long story short, she was found positive of the COVID-19. She was placed in a quarantine facility and left there without medical attention. No hospital would or (perhaps) can accommodate her at that time.  So there goes the COVID-19 saga and the concomitant expenses with it.

Nevertheless, the year 2020 is not just all about the negativities. Great things also transpired outweighing the bad ones. Things that I have to be truly grateful for beyond words. There are some that I would like to highlight. My mother survived the dreaded disease of COVID-19 despite of all the stress, anxiety, fear, and expenses. I was appointed to the Department of Justice after several years of waiting for the appointment. I was able to attend the mass oathtaking ceremony before President Rodrigo Duterte in the MalacaƱang Palace. I was definitely awestruck by the beauty of the MalacaƱang Palace. It was truly a place of grandeur.  I was able to implement my long time plan of building a perimeter fence and gate around our residence.

Also, my family and I have been blessed with material things from the latest gadgets to an opportunity to purchase a residential lot just at the back of our house (though it was a very expensive acquisition). We were able to celebrate our grandmother's 101st birthday. I have new-found friends. Aside from my mother, my family never had health setbacks this year.

Our dog Wolf the Belgian Malinois is finally on her training school. I felt that I have wasted three years of her intelligence for not sending her to a dog training school.  Our Sansa the Lhasa Apso got pregnant though she lost all her puppies. Despite of what happened to her,  she is still healthy and vibrant. I have been learning new skills e.i. foreign language, online courses, video editing - thanks to the quarantine period. And, Alas! I have my first Youtube video!

In this year, I learned that life is a matter of perspective. Your reality is the manifestation of how you take everything around you. I believe in the Law of Attraction - what you think becomes your reality. Thus, we must be very careful of the things we put in our thoughts as it may become our actuality.

For all of those things, I am truly grateful to God the Father and to the people whom He sent to help me and/or my family in anyway possible. Indeed, I must say - Thank God for 2020.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
