Online Delivery Handling: Samsung Online Store vs. Apple Online
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic period, people prefer to shop in a physical store rather than making purchases online. However, online shopping is now a"thing". Trending reveals that online shopping rack up during the imposition by the government of quarantine.
I have this chance to order gadgets from www.apple.com and www.samsung.com.ph. Now, allow me to compare how these two leading electronic gadget companies handle online purchases more particularly in their delivery.
Apple.com Experience
Last December 20, 2020, I ordered Macbook Air 2020 M1 from apple.com via its Apple Store app on my iPhone. Due to the demand perhaps for this new Macbook, the estimated delivery of my order was peg on February 5, 2021 to February 15, 2021.

Right after my order was received, an email was sent to me confirming the same. Once the item was shipped, another email was sent informing me so. Tracking your order is very easy. In every iPhone, an Apple Store app has been pre-installed. Just log in and lo you can easily see all your pending orders. There is a Track Shipment link which directs you to a tracking page as seen below.
Obviously, the official courier of Apple.com is DHL. In the tracking page you can readily see the details of the movements of the item/s you ordered. Here my MacBook Air 2020 M1 came from Singapore and it has arrived Manila as of this writing. It is very transparent, right?
I am kind of excited to get my new Macbook Air 2020 M1. It appears that it will be delivered ahead of the estimated time of delivery (crossing my fingers lol)!
Now, let us compare my experience with Samsung Online Store.
Samsung.com.ph Exeprience
On January 5, 2021, thinking that my Macbook Air will not arrive soon, I decided to purchase the lastest flagship tab of Samsung - the Samsung Tab S7! I have been scourging Samsung Stores here in Iloilo City but to no avail. Yes, Samsung here has no stock of Tab S7 since November of 2020. It must be selling like hotcake, huh!?
Anyway, on that afternoon of January 5, 2020, my order of Samsung Tab S7 was immediately confirmed. I received an email notification that the same was already shipped on January 7, 2020, or two (2) days after placing my order. What is promising is that the delivery timeframe given is only eight (8) to twelve (12) days. Not bad right?
Samsung gave me my Order Number to be used in tracking my purchase. I can check it via its website by providing the Order Number, email address I used when I purchase the Tab S7, zip code of my delivery address and my mobile number (optional).
Tracking your order in Samsung is quite tedious. First you need to go to the website of Samsung online store then provide all the necessary details therein. As a security feature of the website, you will be asked of a One Time Pin sent to your registered mobile number. Unlike in Apple, all you have to do is open your Apple Store app in your phone and viola!
Here's what you get in Samsung:
Examine the tracking page of Samsung. It is very plain and no details provided therein. Unlike in the tracking page of Apple (via DHL) all the movements of my item are indicated there.
In Samsung, I still have to call their CS Helpline: #425299 and ask for the details and status of the delivery of my item. This is sort of longsome and definitely not customer friendly. First, you have to spend time calling the Samsung hotline. Secondly, you incur call charges. 😕
When I asked why Samsung does not provide details on the movements of the item ordered, the representative said that it entirely depends on the third-party courier provider they have contracted. I learned later that its partner is LBC. Due to my insistence, the representative of Samsung who attended to my query gave me a tracking number. So far, my item is still in Metro Manila. 😜
I am hoping that I will be able to receive my Tab S7 within the delivery timeframe Samsung has provided.
Verdict
As can be clearly seen, Apple handles order delivery better than Samsung. Apple has a clear tracking system compared to Samsung which has no details provided whatsoever to help you know the movement of your item.
Albeit, Apple has a longer estimated delivery date, yet I believe you will receive your order earlier than the date so provided.
For me, Apple wins.
